Regional Chamber to Recognize Family-Owned Businesses
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, in collaboration with ScaleCo, Huntington Bank and HBK, will recognize 20 family-owned businesses at the inaugural Family-Owned Business Recognition Dinner, scheduled for March 11 at the Lake Club.
The dinner will serve as a platform to showcase the successes and importance of family-owned businesses in the Mahoning Valley, according to a Regional Chamber news release.
It is a continuation of the Regional Chamber’s family-owned business program, a panel series the chamber launched in 2021 to help family businesses of all sizes and industries with succession planning, including maximizing value, understanding tax implications and a myriad of other aspects during the transition of a business.
The awards are designed to highlight a family-owned business or individual that has excelled in one of five categories:
ScaleCo Success in Succession – highlights a well-executed and unique succession plan that occurred in recent years.
Huntington Social Impact Award – focuses on a family-owned business that went above and beyond to support the community while leveraging the business.
Family-Owned Business Advocate of the Year – awarded to either a business or an individual that was involved in an initiative that supported the family-owned business ecosystem locally.
Local to National Presence – for family-owned business that has managed to develop a national or global presence while remaining family-owned.
HBK Growth Story – recognizes a family-owned business that took its enterprise to the next level.
The winners will be chosen from among 20 selected nominees and announced at the event. Eligible nominees must be family-owned (with exception of the advocate award); operate in Trumbull, Mahoning or Columbiana counties; and have a representative attend the dinner.
Submissions are due by Jan. 21. Nominations can be submitted HERE.
