Regional Chamber to Unveil RNC ‘Showpiece’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber will unveil Thursday what it describes as the “showpiece” it will display at the Republican National Convention in July.
According to a media advisory, the “unique, show-stopping centerpiece” will be unveiled at 10 a.m. at the chamber’s offices downtown. The showpiece is designed to highlight the Mahoning Valley’s “thriving industries and great talent,” as well as to attract “unprecedented media coverage and attention worldwide.”
In January, the chamber announced its “Victory for the Valley ” campaign designed to capitalize on the presence of the 15,000 credentialed media and 50,000 visitors who will be attending the convention in Cleveland.
“Through our resulting ‘Victory for the Valley’ campaign, we have spent the past several months putting together an itinerary for site selectors who will be in the Youngstown-Warren region during the convention week for our first familiarization tour, with hopes of increasing business attraction activity in our community over the next five-plus years,” the chamber said.
According to a June 10 post on the chamber’s “Victory for the Valley” website, the campaign will transport visitors from the Courtyard Marriott in Canfield and a Trumbull County hotel to be named to Cleveland on July 19. The Courtyard Marriott is offering special room rates for convention visitors as well as a complimentary breakfast.
Writes Mary Beth Wyko of the chamber’s staff, “Following the trip to Cleveland, Victory for the Valley participants will attend a reception at the historic Calfee Building, attended by business and political dignitaries from across the state and from Washington, D.C.
“Next, guests will have an opportunity to explore the festivities going on in Cleveland. Don’t forget to make a stop to see the Regional Chamber’s show-stopping display celebrating the future of manufacturing in the Youngstown/ Warren area. It’s sure to be the talk of the town, so bring your camera to take lots of pictures.
