Rep. Kelly to Launch Business Roundtable Feb. 22

SHARON, Pa. — A new business and economic roundtable formed by U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16 Pa., will hold its first meeting Tuesday.

Created to bring local business leaders together and to help guide Kelly’s economic policy, formation of the roundtable “comes after months of rising and historic inflation, a bottlenecked supply chain, labor shortages, and other problems plaguing companies of all sizes and industries,” according to a news release from the congressman’s office.

“This roundtable brings together some of the best and brightest business minds in Northwest Pennsylvania,” Kelly said in the release. “Whether it’s soaring inflation or the struggle to find and retain employees, local businesses have been hit hard over the last year. By creating this roundtable, we hope to develop commonsense solutions that will help local companies and can shape our economic policy in Washington.”

The release did not provide information regarding a time or location for the event.

The 17-member panel will have representation from all five counties that make up Kelly’s district and will include representatives of its key industries, including health care, agriculture, manufacturing, grocery and retail. Kelly expects it to meet quarterly throughout 2022.
