Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley’s Point 5K Raises $15K

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – More than 487 participants took part in the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley’s Point 5K, helping the organization raise $15,115.

The annual event, which took place at White House Fruit Farm in Canfield on July 8, featured a 0.5-kilometer run/walk.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of our community,” said Lynn Wyant, chief development officer at the rescue mission. “The Point 5K is not only a fun and festive event, but also a vital fundraiser for our mission. Every dollar raised helps us provide shelter, food, clothing and hope to those who are struggling in our Valley. We thank everyone who joined us in this cause and made this event a success.”

The event was sponsored by local businesses and organizations, including Adam and Eve Plumbing, America Makes, Ron Leader Carpentry and Builder, Boardman Subaru, City Machine Technologies, Dearing Compressor and Pump Co., Molly Maid of Mahoning/Trumbull, Prout Boiler, Raphel’s School of Beauty, Rockwood Painting, Simon Roofing, Premier Bank, Geraldine Patman, Gary Dunn, Southside Recycling, Athletix, YCTV, Smart Marketing and WFMJ.
