Rescue Mission Releases 2024 Annual Impact Report
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley has released its 2024 Annual Impact Report, a “reflection on a year filled with transformation, hope, and the incredible power of community support.”
Through contributions from donors and community support, 123,736 meals were provided and 58,308 nights of shelter were offered to 1,198 individuals and families, according to the report.
“The support the mission receives from the community is vital. Each donation, whether financial or in-kind, reflects God’s grace at work in the hearts of our supporters,” said John Muckridge III, CEO of the rescue mission. “This year, 685 individual volunteers and 52 groups dedicated 7,597 hours of their time to serving alongside our staff. This shows the dedication of our community and staff to seeing lives restored.”
Contributions totaled $3,359,359, with $2,457,204 coming from individuals; $389,869 from companies; $336,450 from trusts and foundations; $134,116 from churches; and $41,720 from schools, organizations and anonymous donors.
“We believe that every act of kindness is a testament to God’s love. Through the support of our donors, we have been able to offer not just a bed and a meal, but a pathway to recovery and renewal that glorifies God,” said Lynn Wyant, chief development officer at the rescue mission. “Our programs focus on accountability and personal growth, helping guests take meaningful steps toward self-sufficiency. The impact our Valley has had on the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley since our start in 1893 is what makes our shelter unique because we don’t receive any government funds.”
