Growth Report 2: Roemer Industries Carries Momentum into 2024

MASURY – New ownership, plus an innovative referral program designed to recruit top talent in manufacturing, bodes well for Roemer Industries LLC in 2024, the company says.

“Today, under the leadership of Dave Gurska, Roemer is on a mission to grow and improve,” says Alyssa Pawluk, marketing specialist at Roemer.

The company, based in Masury, plans to reinvest in the business and has adopted new initiatives to develop its workforce and improve the working environment for employees, she says.

A formal employee referral program, launched in 2023, empowers and rewards employees for bringing top-tier talent to Roemer from their networks. Aiming to expand further in 2024, Roemer leveraged strategic partnerships such as the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition to help overcome recruitment challenges and fuel workforce development.

“The MVMC was a big help in getting talented folks on our team, and Dave [Gurska] has been instrumental in helping to retain those workers,” Pawluk says. The company hopes to expand its workforce through 2024 and last year initiated a new employee recognition program, honoring workers for their commitment.

Also in 2023, Roemer Industries launched its new website and expanded its digital marketing presence.

“It’s opened the door to new audiences, and now we’re fueling our digital presence with increased advertising to connect with even more customers and drive growth in 2024,” Pawluk says.

Other changes included the installation of LED lighting throughout its manufacturing plant and other investments in the building.

Roemer Industries, which celebrated its 86th year in business in May, manufactures and prints metal nameplates and industrial identification products. The company creates custom metal nameplates, labels, graphic overlays and industrial panels.

The company originated in the Sharon Herald’s rotogravure department in 1937 and later moved to a larger facility in Sharon, Pa.  In 1967, brothers Henry and James Roemer acquired the business, renaming it Roemer Industries. During the mid-1990s, the company relocated to its current site in the Lee Industrial Park at 1555 Masury Road.

“We are excited to see what 2024 brings,” Pawluk says.
