Route 224 Lane Restrictions to Begin Friday

CANFIELD, Ohio – Lane restrictions go in place beginning Friday for the upcoming upgrades to U.S. Route 224 and state Route 11 in Canfield, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.

Route 224 over Route 11 will be reduced to one lane in each direction to replace and widen the bridge over the state route. The bridge replacement is part of a $6.5 million project that includes widening Raccoon Road at Route 224 and the Route 11 southbound ramp on the federal route.

ODOT public information officers visited business owners in the vicinity of the project last month to inform them about potential disruptions related to the work (READ STORY).

The project is slated for completion by October, according to ODOT’s advisory. The lane restrictions will be in place until further notice.
