S. Korean Delegation Visits YSU to Expand Partnership

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — A delegation of high-ranking representatives of Changwon National University in South Korea visits Youngstown State University Thursday, Jan. 30, to expand the partnership between the two schools.

Since 2017, YSU has had an official relationship with CWNU with 10 CWNU students traveling to YSU, one of whom transferred here to finish his degree.

The purpose of the delegation’s visit is to extend the current cooperation agreement to other areas, including language training and summer programs, said Nate Myers, associate provost of International and Global Initiatives at YSU.

“As an international community, we have appreciated the diversity, perspective and academic excellence that Changwon National University students have brought onto campus,” Myers said. “Currently CWNU is the single largest sender of Korean students who study at YSU. The relationship is very important to furthering our efforts to create an environment where YSU’s domestic students can experience international diversity here on the YSU campus.”

The delegation includes CWNU’s president, dean of International Affairs and international coordinator.
