Salem Chamber Establishes Educational Foundation
SALEM, Ohio — The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce has received approval from the Internal Revenue Service to organize and develop the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
The foundation’s purpose is to provide services and educational programs that support the civic and economic development of the Salem area, while emphasizing the importance of such education to prepare our future workforce for an increasingly competitive and national economy.
On May 24, the foundation will present its first program, a morning seminar at the Timberlanes Complex featuring Katherine Miracle of Miracle Resources in Akron. She will speak on the topic of “Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace”.
New officers of the foundation are pictured at top. They are David Mollenkopf, Crabb Insurance Agency, first vice president; Betty Brothers, city of Salem auditor, second vice president; Jim Wenderoth, retired; George W.S. Hays, executive director of the United Way of Northern Columbiana County, president, and Audrey Null, executive director of the Salem Chamber and the foundation. Missing from the photo is attorney Vito Abruzzino of Harrington, Hoppe, and Mitchell who will serve as the foundation’s secretary.
