Sales of New Vehicles in the Valley Flat in September

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in September were flat compared with the same period a year ago, according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

Local buyers purchased 2,203 new vehicles during the month, precisely the same volume residents bought in September 2023, data show. 

Boardman Subaru sold the most vehicles during the month with 155, followed by Greenwood Chevrolet at 125 units. Rounding out the top five dealerships with the highest volume of sales were Fred Martin Ford with 113 new vehicle sales, #1 Cochran Honda Boardman with 109 units sold and Toyota of Boardman with 91 sold, the Dealers’ Association reported.

New vehicle sales were down 5% in September compared with the previous month, data show.

Sales of used vehicles to local buyers also remained virtually unchanged during the month, the report shows.

In September, dealerships sold a total of 1,894 used cars and trucks, compared with 1,909 sold in September 2023, a drop of just 15 units.
