Sales Rise at Fyda Freightliner
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Fyda Freightliner added employees in 2018 as the dealership experienced an increase in its sales, service and parts divisions, reports Scott Williamson, sales manager.
“The orders have not slowed down for 2019,” he says, especially for the Freightliner New Cascadia, a popular sleeper truck available at the dealership.
Last year, sales of the New Cascadia were 22% higher than strong sales in 2017, Williamson says.
Freightliner has experienced market share of more than 40% for several years and continues to improve its product line with uptime and fuel efficiency that comes with products such as the New Cascadia, he continues.
The strong economy has led to a 23.3% increase in service sales in 2018 compared to 2017, along with the addition of three staff members.
Fyda Freightliner’s parts department also enjoyed a growth of 13% in overall sales last year, as well as adding five new employees in that department.
The Youngstown location was established in 1954 and was the first Fyda dealership, Williamson says. Fyda expanded into the Columbus market in 1985 and has since established new dealerships in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Barkeyville Pa., Zanesville, Ohio, and Walton, Ky.
“This expansion has greatly increased Fyda’s ability to service our local customer’s needs by being conveniently located in many of their hauling lanes,“ Williamson says. Companywide, Fyda added 50 employees in 2018. Fyda employs a total of 463 among its seven locations, he says.
