Sauer to Deliver Kent Trumbull Commencement Address

WARREN, Ohio – Diane Sauer, president and owner of Diane Sauer Chevrolet.Inc., will deliver the commencement address at Kent State University at Trumbull’s spring ceremony.

More than 200 students will be graduate at the ceremony, which begins at 6 p.m. May 12, at Packard Music Hall.

Earlier that day, Kent State Trumbull will provide a charter bus for graduates who want to participate in Kent State’s university-wide commencement ceremony, where Oscar-nominated actor Michael Keaton will return to the campus he attended.

“As our campus moves toward its new strategic vision for working with community partners, the Kent State University system, and our students to maximize our campus assets and build our capacity for contributing to a vibrant Trumbull County, Diane Sauer is an excellent choice,“ said Dr. Lance Grahn, dean and chief administrative officer at the Kent Trumbull campus. “We are thrilled to share in her hard work, passion and purpose.”

Sauer, born and raised in Coldwater, Ohio, earned a degree in business administration from The Ohio State University. In 1976, she began working in the accounting department at Martin Chevrolet, was promoted to office manager in 1977 and to general manager in 1983.

In 1993, Sauer signed a buy-sell agreement to purchase the dealership over a 10-year period. The following year, she became a franchised Chevrolet dealer. In 2003 she completed the buy-sell and changed the name of the dealership to Diane Sauer Chevrolet Inc.
