Schroedel, Scullin CPAs Grows with Acquisitions
CANFIELD, Ohio – Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic CPAs and Strategic Advisors completed a strong growth year in 2018 and anticipates extraordinary growth this year after the recent acquisition of two local accounting firms.
“We are excited to welcome the members of these firms and their expertise as we increase SSB’s presence in the industries we serve,” says Thomas O’Neil, managing principal.
The firm expects to increase its presence in the construction, manufacturing, health care, trucking, oil and gas and distribution industries, he adds.
Last year, many questions and planning opportunities came with the implementation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, O’Neil says.
The firm assisted clients in maximizing the benefits of the changes by looking at business structures, accounting method choices and expensing elections for business assets.
Long-term and succession planning was a hot topic and the firm anticipates that need to continue.
SSB places a strong focus on continuing education for its team members to keep current on ever changing regulations and to provide the highest level of services to clients.
Staff attended in-house training and nationwide conferences in 2018, O’Neil says.
And the firm invests in the education of Youngstown State University students through the employment of interns and involvement with the Williamson College of Business Administration.
SSB gives back to the community through projects and involvement with many organizations, says O’Neil. Among the organizations are the Better Business Bureau, Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, Salem Regional Medical Center, Sight for All United and Stambaugh Auditorium.
