Scrappers Open 2023 Season Tonight at Eastwood Field

NILES, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will open their 2023 season with tonight’s game at 7:05 p.m. against the West Virginia Black Bears at Eastwood Field.

It’s the first of several Buck Nights, with $1 general admission tickets, $1 drinks and $1 hot dogs. After the game, there will be a fireworks display.

The Scrappers, of the Major League Baseball Draft League, will also play the Black Bears at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2:05 p.m. Sunday.

Friday’s game will also feature post-game fireworks; and Saturday will be a youth T-shirt giveaway for the first 750 youths age 12 and under.

Here’s a look at some of the special game-day promotions this season:

  • Bobblehead giveaways: June 17 (Steven Kwan), July 22 (Oscar Gonzalez) and Aug. 5 (Guardians’ top prospect Daniel Espino).
  • Specialty Jersey giveaways: June 2, June 17, July 21, Aug. 4 and Aug. 18.
  • Senior Discount Nights: Every Tuesday, fans 55 and up receive half-off upper box tickets.
  • Military Appreciation Nights: Every Wednesday, those who present a valid military ID card will get two free upper box seat tickets.
  • Buck Nights: Every Thursday ($1 admission, hot dogs and drinks).
  • Fireworks Nights: Every Friday.
  • Harry Stevens Day Festival: On July 2, this festival will take place inside the park starting at 10 a.m. The Scrappers will play the State College Spikes at 2:05 p.m., and attendees can stay and watch the game for free. There will be a post-game concert by the Vegas band. Parking will also be free for this day.
