Second Harvest Helps Fill ‘Huge Need’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley distributed about 15,000 pounds of food to residents of Campbell, Lowellville, Struthers and Coitsville Township at Roosevelt Park on Thursday.
“The food bank has been very good to us,” says Mayor Bryan Tedesco of Campbell. “When they call, we jump, and when we get things done on our end, they get things done on their end – and you can see the people, how great it is.”
“There’s a huge need for distributions,” says Andy Duraney, warehouse manager for Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. “The people in line are thanking us immensely about giving them this opportunity to get fresh fruit and milk and things like that.”
