Seminar to Focus on Tax Issues for Artists

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Legal Creative will hold the first in a series of seminars for the artist-entrepreneur March 23 at the Soap Gallery downtown.

The series will kick off with “Tax Issues for Artists.” presented by Dean Coutris, a certified public accountant who has worked in both public and private accounting for the past 10 years, with heavy focuses on non-profit organizations and small business tax and accounting services. He will discuss tax issues for the self-employed artist such as allowable business expenses and artists need to do to properly claim deductions.

The hour-long program will begin at noon. Participants may bring a bagged lunch. Coffee, tea and water will be provided.

Registration is not required. Attendees can pay what they are able – the suggested donation is $15. Proceeds will benefit the Legal Creative.
