September VLT Play Down at Austintown Racino
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — After two months at $102 million, wagering on video lottery terminals at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course dipped below the $100 million mark in September.
VLT wagers at the Austintown racino reached $97.98 million last month, down more than $4 million from the $102.33 million wagered in August, but more than $5 million above September 2017’s total, $92.83 million.
VLT play statewide also dipped month-over-month, falling from $970.17 million in August to $933.30 million last month.
Winners took home credits worth $86.77 million in September, down from $90.73 million in August but up from $82.44 million in September 2017.
Hollywood Gaming received $6.50 million as its commission for operating, down from $6.75 million the month before, but up from the $6.16 million it got in September 2017. The Austintown racino is operated by Penn National Gaming Inc. of Wyomissing, Pa.
The Ohio Lottery Commission, which oversees VLT operations in Ohio, received $3.29 million last month, compared with $3.42 million in August and $3.12 million in September 2018.
