Seraphina Safety Apparel Receives National Recognition

CORTLAND, Ohio — Seraphina Safety Apparel and Manufacturing has received national recognition for its flame-resistant apparel and its commitment to women.

The brand received recognition in Chicago at the American Society of Safety Professionals Safety 2022 Conference and Expo for its cutting-edge apparel. The Women in Safety Excellence community hosted two fashion shows at the event featuring safety apparel designed specifically for women in industrial careers.

“Equality in the workplace includes equality in protection” has become a company motto for Seraphina Safety Apparel, says its founder and president, Kelly Franko.

The company’s products serve the needs of women in motorsports, she says, along with those working in petrochemical, electrical, paper and pulp, mining, steel, fire safety, military and ballistics and more

As the last line of defense against heat and fire, Seraphina Safety Apparel provides the highest level of protection available and is size inclusive to fit women of all sizes, she says.

The fashion shows at the expo were well attended with standing room only and provided national exposure for Seraphina’s products, according to Franko. The event was a major milestone for Seraphina Safety Apparel, she says, and its mission to provide protective apparel that comfortably fits women so that they are as safe as men on the job.

“Seeing women wear our products on the stage was awesome. It is truly inspiring to see what women are accomplishing in their careers and to know we have a part in keeping them safe on the job is extremely rewarding,” says Franko. “We want them returning home looking the same after a thermal incident as they did getting dressed that day. Women cannot be expected to work in men’s clothing or wear clothing labeled “for women” when it is not really made to fit their body.”

Franko was recently added to the Z590.6 standards committee roster for women’s safety apparel.
