Sharon Seeks Applicants for Small Business Grants

SHARON, Pa. – The city of Sharon will distribute up to $500,000 in grants to businesses in the city that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The purpose of the grant is to assist businesses that have suffered significant pandemic-related revenue loss with payroll costs, rent/mortgage interest, utilities and other covered operations expenditures, according to a news release distributed Monday.

The city will award qualifying applicants who are selected funding of up to $25,000 per location, not to exceed $50,000 total for the applicant and any affiliated businesses. Awardees will not be required to repay funds received under this program unless they were used for purposes other than for authorized purposes; if the funds were not used by Dec. 31, 2024; or, if applicable, the awardee permanently closed before using all funds on authorized purposes.

Businesses have until Jan. 31, to apply for the funds, which will be administered by Sharon’s finance department.

The application can be found HERE. Once completed, the application and required documentation can be submitted to City of Sharon, Attention Finance Director, 155 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon, Pa. 16146. Applications may be denied if they are incomplete or lack required documentation.
