Sharon to Receive $380K for Traffic Safety Project

SHARON, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will distribute $380,000 to the city for a traffic safety project.

The traffic signal at Route 62 and Spencer Avenue will be removed, and the median will be extended to restrict turns at the intersection while turnarounds are created for local traffic.

“This project has the potential to save lives,” said state Rep. Parke Wentling, R-Mercer. “If this new construction can prevent even one fatal crash, it will be worth it.”

The grant was funded through the Automated Red Light Enforcement program.
