Shop Local: Silk Road Opens Pop-Up Store

SHARON, Pa. – The Silk Road Fair Trade Market has expanded for the upcoming holiday season with a pop-up store in downtown Sharon at 146 E. State St.

There will be an opening celebration on Small Business Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25 at the new storefront as well as the flagship store at 115 N. Market St. in New Wilmington.

Cookies and drinks will be served and customers can enter to win a gift basket worth $85 at both stores. Every customer who makes a $50 purchase will receive a free ornament.

“Customers have been asking me to open a second storefront in their neighborhood for years” said Wendy Farmerie, owner of Silk Road in a news release. “After almost 12 years at the Market Street location, the timing and location on State Street feels right, so I’m testing it out with the pop-up. It’ll have a slightly different mix of products, but stay within my commitment to fair trade. “
