Skechers Store Coming to Shops at Boardman Park

BOARDMAN, Ohio — The Shops at Boardman Park is busy preparing space for its newest tenant: Skechers USA Inc.

Renovation work on the 5,000-square-foot outlet store should be wrapped up by October, said a representative of The Shops at Boardman Park. In a statement, owner David Handel said the company is “proud to welcome the new and exciting tenant” to the plaza.

“It will make a great addition to unquestionably the most impressive tenant mix in the Mahoning Valley, including Target, Kohl’s, Value City Furniture, TJ Maxx, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble,” Handel continued. “We offer choices in shopping unparalleled in this area.”

Founded in 1992 in Manhattan Beach, Calif., Skechers started in a beach house as a utility boot, according to the release. Today, it sells products nationally, including footwear and athleisurewear for men, women and children.

The brand has partnered with several athletes, including former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, champion professional boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and former Oakland Raiders defensive end Howie Long.
