Skilled Trades Expo Shows Dirty Hands Earn Clean Money

CANFIELD, Ohio – An estimated 5,000 high school students will attend the Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo to learn about career opportunities in the skilled trades.

Students can get their hands dirty at multiple booths representing various trades such as bricklaying and roofing, or they can learn how to operate an excavator.

“If you’re not looking to go the college route, they can go straight into an apprenticeship,” says Rob Eggleston, coordinator of career counseling at the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio. “It’s earn while you learn, and this is a great way to go experience that.”
