Smarts Event to Kick Off Fall Public Programming

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Students Motivated by the Arts is kicking off its 26th year Tuesday.

The art school at 25 E. Boardman St. will host an event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Guests can learn what Smarts has to offer in the 2023-24 school year. The event will include a popcorn bar and hands-on arts activities for students of all ages. For information, call 330 574 2787.

This fall, Smarts will offer 29 PK-12 classes, with each class running for up to 11 weeks. The school’s public programming is free for all students and offered on a first-come, first-served basis with a completed application. 

Smarts’ classes are offered in five arts disciplines: visual art, music, dance, theater and creative writing. Classes are held after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and Saturday mornings.
