Solar Atmospheres’ Hermitage Facility Receives Certification
HERMITAGE, Pa. – Solar Atmospheres of Western PA announced Thursday that it has received PWA 11, “Heat Treatments” approval from aerospace manufacturer Pratt & Whitney.
The certification positions Solar Atmospheres’ Hermitage facility as a top choice for customers requiring thermal processing that meets Pratt & Whitney standards, a news release states.
“This accomplishment reinforces Solar Atmospheres’ dedication to excellence and its ability to meet the evolving demands of the aerospace industry,” the release states.
“Hermitage is thrilled to join other Solar locations in achieving Pratt & Whitney approvals for heat treating nonrotor parts,” said Justin Hoffman, quality manager at Solar Atmospheres of Western PA. “With our specialized furnaces and unique capabilities, we are prepared to process parts immediately for precipitation hardening, austenitizing, quenching and tempering.”
Hoffman said the facility anticipates “expanding our approved capabilities and remaining committed to supporting Pratt & Whitney with unparalleled customer service and heat-treating expertise.”
