Southwoods, Humana Sign Agreement to Expand Local Access
BOARDMAN, Ohio — Southwoods Health and Humana announced an agreement Wednesday that will expand local access to in-network health care for Humana members as of Oct. 1.
The agreement includes Humana’s Commercial, Medicare Advantage (HMO, PPO, PFFS) and Ohio Medicaid health plans, according to a press release.
Humana members will have seamless access from Southwoods’ network of physicians to The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods and all of its services, including imaging, pain and spine center, sleep centers and express care.
“We are very pleased that local Humana members can now access the Surgical Hospital at Southwoods as an in-network option for quality health care in the Valley,” said Ed Muransky, Southwoods CEO. “We’ve listened to the needs of the community and worked hard to expand our relationship with Humana. Being able to increase access to our growing network of services is very important to us.”
The agreement ensures in-network benefits apply to Southwoods professional and technical services. The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods provides inpatient, outpatient and robotic-assisted surgery, as well as endoscopy services.
