Sparkle Market Opens in New Castle
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Locally owned and operated Sparkle Markets, which has been in the Ohio-Pennsylvania areas since 1955, is expanding into New Castle, Pa.
What was once a Shop ‘n Save, has now converted into a Sparkle Market, operated by the Furrie-Vitullo ownership group which currently owns six other Sparkle Market stores.
The store at West State Street is open for business, with major renovations to come.
“We’re really excited to start serving the New Castle community,” owner Vince Furrie Jr. said. “Sparkle Markets has been in the Furrie-Vitullo families since 1962, so we’re thrilled to continue the tradition of providing great customer service and quality products through our locally-owned stores. We take pride in serving the communities our stores are located and look forward to being a part of New Castle.”
The new store will continue to stay open during remodeling projects happening in the next four to six months. With plans to update the entire store, a grand opening is expected to take place in March or April of 2019.
The New Castle store also has a Hometown Pharmacy and in-store café, allowing shoppers to purchase food and beverages, including beer and wine, to consume during their shopping experience.
