Spectrochemical Adds Lathe, New Equipment

STRUTHERS – Spectrochemical Testing Inc. made major investments in technology and equipment in 2023, according to Frank L. Galletta, owner and manager.

Purchases include a lathe that allows for in-house preparation of test samples that were previously farmed out.

Spectrochemical also upgraded saws and other preparation equipment last year and put a second digital Rockwell hardness tester into use. “This fits our strategy of increasing capabilities and adding redundancy,” Galletta says.

Significant investments were also made to the lab’s IT system, he adds.

Spectrochemical Testing beautified its building last year by installing awnings, power washing and painting the structure. The work was part of the city of Struthers business corridor beautification project.
