SSB Reports 20% Growth, Invests in New Technology

CANFIELD, Ohio – Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic LLC, a certified public accounting firm and business advisory firm based in Canfield, reports significant growth in 2023.

“We expanded our practice by 20%. This growth is the culmination of strategic initiatives, embracing both organic expansion and the acquisition of a local accounting practice,” says Tracie L. Stephens, a CPA and SSB principal.

Last year SSB invested in software solutions that improve workflow processes in tax, client accounting and advisory services. The firm also expanded its training room and installed technology to create an environment conducive to learning and to allow remote participation in training sessions and meetings.

As part of the office renovations, the lounge area – “affectionately called the SSB Café,” Stephens says – was updated. Additional office spaces were created as well as a large conference room.

Most SSB team members work in the office, according to Stephens, but the firm also offers remote and hybrid work options.  “We recognize the importance of flexibility and accountability in maintaining productivity and managing responsibilities,” she says.

Notable achievements in 2023 include Denise Harlan’s recognition by the Ohio Society of CPAs as an “Power of Change” honoree and the appointment of Jessie Wright to the Ohio Accountancy Board.

“Our up-and-coming leaders successfully reached goals in their career and educational advancement,” Stephens adds.

Bryant Croach and Andrew Klapac both obtained CPA licensure and Alaina Fullerman and Zachary Hall obtained advanced degrees, she says.
