Stambaugh Auditorium Awarded $11K to Host Blood Drives

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Stambaugh Auditorium has received $11,420 in grants to support blood drives as part of the COVID-19 relief effort.

Since March, the venue has hosted 12 blood drives, collecting a total of 1,300 pints of blood.

The funding comes from three sources: $5,000 from the John MacIntosh Fund of The Youngstown Foundation through the Mahoning Valley COVID-19 Relief Program, $5,000 from the PNC Foundation and $1,420 from the Thomases Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.

In a statement, Stambaugh Auditorium chief development officer JoAnn Stock said that while the venue would host such events as part of its mission, the cancellation of events due to the COVID-19 pandemic did not have the funds to provide space for free.

“We are so grateful for the grants from these local foundations whose support has enabled us to continue to utilize Stambaugh Auditorium to help others during these unprecedented times,” she said.
