Steinhauser Agency Joins James & Sons Insurance
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Steinhauser Agency, Inc. will be joining James & Sons Insurance, part of the Home Savings Insurance Group, on July 1.
Alan Steinhauser, president of The Steinhauser Agency, along with Janette Cole, office manager will join James & Sons, continuing to provide service and expanded opportunities for their clients.
“We are very happy that Alan and Janette are joining our agency,” said Tom Costello, James & Sons president. “As neighboring Boardman agencies, both with a long history of providing exceptional service to our clients, it just makes sense to continue that tradition together.”
The Steinhauser Insurance Agency was founded in 1939 by Alan Steinhauser’s father, Cyrill. After 49 years of sustained growth, the agency moved from the Home Savings and Loan Building in downtown Youngstown to 4305 Market St. in 1978. Alan joined the agency in 1980.
James & Sons, also a long time Mahoning Valley insurance agency with a 97-year history of providing personalized service, was established in 1921 by C. Gilbert James.
In January 2016, James & Sons was acquired by United Community Financial Corp., holding company for Home Savings Bank. The agency continues to do business as James & Sons under the Home Savings Insurance Group umbrella.
Operating independently, James & Sons works with regional and national insurance companies offering a wide variety of insurance products for business and residential customers, which include, auto, homeowners, life-health, commercial, surety bonds, and aviation.
“With expanded options and same great reputation, our customers will benefit from the combined resources,” said Steinhauser. “There are no changes for our customers and even our phone numbers will remain the same.”

The agencies are currently just two blocks from each other on Market Street in Boardman. James & Sons is at 4444 Market St. Steinhauser employees will join them at that location in early July.
