Steward Medical Welcomes Interventional Cardiologist

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Sharon Regional Medical Center and Steward Medical Group Cardiologist Associates practice here this week welcomed Dr. Chinedu Agela Igwe, an interventional cardiologist, to their staffs.

Igwe is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiology and has clinical interests in cardiovascular disease, coronary angiography, angioplasty, complex PCI, peripheral intervention and stent placement.

She earned her medical degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria and a master’s degree in public health from Harvard University.  She completed an internal medicine residency at Yale University School of Medicine/Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut.  In addition, she completed a cardiology fellowship at Suma Health Neomed in Akron. And she completed an interventional cardiology and advanced interventional cardiology fellowships at Case Western Reserve University Hospital in Cleveland.

“We know that heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States,” stated Dr. Igwe.  “I welcome the opportunity to join the medical staff at Sharon Regional Medical Center and the Steward Cardiology team.”
