Stock Joins Regional Chamber in Dual Executive Roles

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – JoAnn Stock has joined the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamberr as executive director of Leadership Mahoning Valley and the newly established Center for Nonprofit Excellence.

As a key member of the chamber team, Stock will be responsible for relaunching the Leadership Mahoning Valley program, which has been on hiatus since 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. She will also be responsible for starting the Center for Nonprofit Excellence that will provide professional development opportunities and resources to area nonprofit organizations.

Both Leadership Mahoning Valley and the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, while separate nonprofit organizations, will be housed within the Regional Chamber.

Stock has spent much of her career in nonprofit management and has experience in the social service, health care and arts and culture sectors. Overall, she has led the efforts to raise nearly $55 million to support local programs, services and capital projects for the organizations she has served. These include the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, Stambaugh Auditorium and affiliated arts organizations.

In her role with Stambaugh Auditorium, she was responsible for securing $3.7 million in funding that led to the completion of the monumental staircase replacement and exterior renovation project and more than $2 million in relief funding, including Shuttered Venue Operating Grants that sustained both Stambaugh Auditorium and the Youngstown Symphony Society through the COVID shutdown.

Stock holds a master’s degree in health and human services, an MBA and a B.S. degree in business administration with a major in advertising and public relations. She is a certified fundraising executive and member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Mahoning/Shenango Chapter. Stock is also a member and past president of the Junior League of Youngstown and the Youngstown Business and Professional Women. She serves on the board of directors of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
