Streetscape Seeks Volunteers for Planting Day
YOUNGSTOWN – Volunteers are being sought to help beautify the downtown area at Youngstown CityScape’s annual planting day, which will take place June 5.
Projects will include removing debris, trimming, planting flowers and shrubs, and mulching planted areas. Gift cards to downtown and area restaurants will be provided to participants in place of a lunch together.
The beautification will center on Central Square, Federal Street, the John Young memorial, the police memorial, Mahoning Commons, B&O Station, Choffin hillside, city hall, the Williamson staircase, Wick Park, Harrison Common, Smoky Hollow and other sites.
