Summer Events Offer Sights, Sounds, Tastes of Trumbull County

WARREN, Ohio – The sights, sounds and tastes of Trumbull County are on full display throughout July as special events throughout the month highlight the best of what’s available.

Through July 14, the Trumbull County Fair will feature a wide array of grandstand entertainment, daily shows, local bands, exhibits and rides. Shows include the demolition derby, the bike show and 4-H displays. Fireworks will also complete the week.

On July 11 through 15, the Girard Mount Carmel Festival features games, evening concerts and nightly live entertainment including fireworks and a parade. 

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will host Hot Peppers in Oil Night, July 13. Members of the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau’s Italian Food Trail and other local restaurants will bring their best recipe for fans to taste-test and then vote to crown the Best Peppers in Oil in the Mahoning River Valley. 

Niles Our Lady of Mount Carmel Summer Festival, one of the longest-running church festivals in the state, is held July 17-21, featuring games of chance, raffles, bingo, amusement rides and Italian food. 

July 18 through 20, Mitch and Cindy’s Bluegrass Jamboree at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds returns featuring 10 bands, a competition for local performers, camping hookups, food and merchandise vendors. All net proceeds will benefit Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

The month concludes with the Warren Greek Festival July 24 through 28. The 52nd annual festival will feature Greek food, dancers and carnival rides at the St. Demetrios Orthodox Church.
