Summer Festival of the Arts Returning to YSU Campus
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown State University Summer Festival of the Arts will return to the YSU campus for its 27th year.
The annual event, known for showcasing the artistic talent of the region, will be on the university grounds, continuing its tradition of bringing art and culture to the community.
Scheduled for July 12 and 13, 2025, the festival will feature an array of artists, performances and interactive activities across the campus. The Summer Festival of the Arts will maintain its status as a juried event, ensuring that all participating artists are carefully selected.
“We are excited to bring the Summer Festival of the Arts back to its home at YSU,” said YSU President Bill Johnson. “Returning to the campus not only honors the festival’s rich history but also enhances the experience for both artists and attendees from throughout our region. We look forward to another year of celebrating creativity and community on our beautiful campus.”
The festival, which began in 1999, has grown into a cornerstone event for the region, featuring a wide range of visual arts, live music and cultural activities.
“The YSU Summer Festival of the Arts has always been a highlight of our community’s cultural calendar,” Johnson said. “We are thrilled to see this cherished event return to its original venue and continue to attract artists and visitors from across the region.”
Phyllis Paul, dean of the YSU Cliffe College of Creative Arts, expressed enthusiasm about the return.
“This festival is a testament to the Mahoning Valley’s deep appreciation for the arts,” she said. “We are delighted to continue this tradition at YSU and offer an inspiring and enriching experience for everyone involved.”
The festival will continue to include a range of performing artists, children’s activities and contributions from local ethnic, arts and cultural institutions. The event is free and open to the public, welcoming over 80 artists and drawing more than 15,000 visitors each year.
