CANFIELD, Ohio — This fire engine is used to train students enrolled in the Fire Training program at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center’s Adult Career Center.
John lightly, lead instructor at MCCTC and Battalion Chief with the City of Youngstown Fire Department, shows us around the vehicle. The truck stores various equipment necessary to the job, like saws, hoses, nozzles and axes. Lightly says much of the equipment the students train with is donated by local fire departments.
“Without them we can’t really exist,” he says.
