Talmer Names Fatobene Mortgage-Lending Manager

TROY, Mich. – Talmer Bank and Trust has named Donald Fatobene of Cortland manager of its Mahoning Valley mortgage banking activity, Patrick Ervin, executive managing director of Talmer’s mortgage division, announces.

Fatobene, who manages five of the 18 Talmer offices in the Mahoning Valley, will also run its loan production efforts. He is based in Howland.

Fatobene began his career as a mortgage loan officer with the former First Place Bank, whose assets were acquired by Talmer. At First Place, he worked to liquidate its REO (real-estate owned) portfolio that consisted of repossessed real estate.

He worked briefly for another bank that serves the Mahoning Valley before joining Talmer, a spokeswoman says.

Fatobene earned his baccalaureate at Kent State University and later joined the Warren Kiwanis Club where he served as president and sat on its board, Talmer says. He also volunteered as a Lakeview Athletic Club head coach for some of its youth athletic teams.
