Taylor Kia Donates $50K to Spartan Stadium Project

BOARDMAN, Ohio – Taylor Kia of Boardman has donated $50,000 to the final stage of the new Spartan Stadium, the dealership’s second since construction on Phase 3 began earlier this summer.

This summer’s work includes the construction of boys and girls locker rooms, a facade featuring the names of donors, ticket booths and a concession stand. For its donation, Taylor Kia signage will be installed on both the front and back of the stadium’s press box.

“Matt Taylor is a Boardman alumnus, and has been a great supporter of Spartan Stadium,” said Boardman Booster Club President Bruce Flyak in a statement. “With this latest donation, Matt has committed a total of $200,000 to date to the Stadium Project– the largest of any local business.”

Including Taylor’s donations, nearly $3 million has been raised for the stadium’s construction since the campaign began. Phase 3 cost $650,000.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to help build a place where our community gets together, and families can enjoy sports and other events for years to come,” Taylor said. “While it took three phases and several years, a project of this scope is an amazing testament to the determination and generosity of our entire Boardman community.”

Construction on the stadium began in 2015 and it hosted its first football game in 2016.

Donations are still being accepted and can be made at BoardmanStadium.org.
