TCHS Holds Transcription Day at Newly Renovated Morgan History Center

The Trumbull County Historical Society held its first post-pandemic transcription day inside of the newly renovated Morgan History Center. Volunteers transcribe digitally archived letters and postcards so others can search the documents online come next month.

In 2019, the TCHS received a $50K grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The grant was used to catalogue, take inventory, digitize and store five-thousand high-priority archives.

“Over the past two years, we’ve completed 180 boxes worth of material ranging from photographs, ledgers, documents including really early land records and scrap books,” says Meghan Reed, director of the Trumbull County Historical Society.
