Team NEO Names Broer Chairman; Appoints Buzzelli to Board

CLEVELAND — Team NEO this week announced the election of Peter W. Broer, president and CEO of Lumitex, Inc., as chairman of its board of directors. He succeeds Jodi L. Berg, president & CEO of Vitamix, who has served as chairwoman since 2019.

“With his invaluable business leadership experience as CEO of a successful technology company and perspectives as a long-time board member of one of Team NEO’s core partner organizations, Magnet, Peter will be an impactful champion of Team NEO’s goal of building a more vibrant economy,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler.

“Team NEO is tremendously grateful for Jodi Berg’s leadership and guidance during her tenure as board chairwoman,” he added. “Jodi guided the organization through many critical strategy decisions that have resulted in increased growth and prosperity in Northeast Ohio, improved visibility for Team NEO as an organization, a stronger relationship with JobsOhio, and more integrated strategies amongst core economic development partners throughout the region.”

Berg will remain as chair emeritus.

The organization also appointed Nicholas M. Buzzelli, senior vice president, regional head of commercial banking at Fifth Third Bank, to its board. Buzzelli brings more than 15 years of banking industry experience to the board.

“Nick’s financial expertise and relationships throughout the region will be a tremendous asset to us and our mission to accelerate growth and equity outcomes throughout the 18 counties of Northeast Ohio,” said Koehler. “With his experience and involvement as a Greater Akron Chamber board member, Nick will be a valuable contributor to our shared efforts in that part of the Northeast Ohio Region.”

Broer and Buzzelli were voted into their positions at the November 3 Team NEO board meeting.
