Team NEO Names Koehler New CEO
CLEVELAND — Team Northeast Ohio today named William “Bill” R. Koehler as chief executive officer of the organization, James R. Clay, Team NEO’s chairman, announced today. Koehler assumes the role June 15.
Koehler, a senior executive with more than two decades of experience in corporate banking, has served in various leadership positions within KeyBank and was responsible for sales teams operating in Cleveland, Canton, Akron and Youngstown. Most recently, he led Key’s Community Bank as president. He has also held positions with J.P. Morgan & Co. and Oxford Venture Corp.
He succeeds Thomas A. Waltermire as Team NEO’s CEO. Waltermire retired Dec. 31
The economic development organization markets northeastern Ohio globally and collaborates with its partners and others to attract new businesses, help those that are here grow, and accelerate the pace and impact of innovation throughout the region.
“Bill’s vast leadership experience and business acumen make him perfectly suited to take on this critical leadership role at Team NEO,” Clay said. “His history of collaboration and track record of tackling business opportunities to achieve results will benefit all of Northeast Ohio.”
