Tedford to Lead String Teachers Association
Jeffrey M. Tedford, associate professor of music and director of orchestral activities at Grove City College, recently was elected president of the Pennsylvania-Delaware String Teachers Association. Tedford directs the college orchestra and its chamber orchestra and teaches classes on string methods and conducting. He also works with student music teachers and the college’s string quartet, gallery brass, cantita, trumpet choir and tuba choir ensembles. He received his undergraduate degree in music education from Grove City College, his masters in conducting from Carnegie Mellon University and his doctorate in music education from Shenandoah University. Tedford says his work with the teachers association will focus on organizing meetings and events across Pennsylvania and Delaware, supervising curriculum developments and advocating for string education.
