Thacker Robinson Zinz Joins Brouse McDowell Law Firm
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The lawyers of Thacker Robinson Zinz (TRZ) will be joining Brouse McDowell effective July 31, operating under the name Brouse McDowell.
The combined law firm will consist of more than 80 attorneys across five offices, including four in Ohio – Akron, Cleveland, Toledo, and Youngstown – and a Naples, Florida office.
This combination will add a dozen attorneys to Brouse McDowell’s 70 attorneys, including partners Stacy RC Berliner, Suzanne Bretz Blum, Joseph K. Cole, Brandi L. Doniere, Andrew W. Miller, Marquettes D. Robinson, Joseph P. Thacker, Kimberly J. Todd, and Marguerite E. Zinz, of counsel Richard S. Walinski, and associates Nicholas J. Kopcho and Teresa G. Santin.
This announcement follows Brouse McDowell’s combination with Canfield-based Nadler Nadler and Burdman Co., in late 2016, which expanded the firm’s coverage in the greater Youngstown area, to serve the legal needs of businesses in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
The Thacker Robinson merger will grow the firm’s footprint in the insurance recovery space, with more than 25 attorneys concentrating in this area, including eight of the 26 insurance coverage law specialists certified by the Ohio State Bar Association.
It will also expand the firm’s coverage in commercial litigation to include a wider variety of matters arising out of contract disputes, business tort claims, and corporate control issues. The combination will result in broader client offerings and industry capabilities, notably including the addition of an experienced litigation and discovery management practice.
“The firms share similar cultures, particularly in the desire to always put clients first and provide exceptional legal counsel and service,” says Marguerite Zinz, TRZ’s president. “That made this transaction very appealing on all sides. The combined experience and practice areas of both firms create exciting opportunities to serve clients in new areas and new ways all with the same attention and quality to which our clients have grown accustomed.”
