The Dog Stop Wags Tails at New Business in Boardman
BOARDMAN, Ohio — The Dog Stop, a company founded in Pittsburgh 10 years ago, has expanded to the Mahoning Valley with the opening here of its 16th franchise location.
The new business, at 7690 Market St., offers grooming, day-care and boarding services plus training for dogs of all ages, sizes and energy levels. Separate and secure play areas include three outside yards with special anti-microbial grass-like turf.
The facility is equipped with fiberglass reinforced plastic kennels and vinyl fencing to decrease the risk of scratching. Floor coatings and durable turf play areas promote safety for puppy joints and paws, while making surfaces easy to clean and sanitize.
“Our goal is to provide a clean, safe and fun environment for dogs,” said company co-founder Chris Kane. “We understand that today’s busy lifestyles make it difficult for us to give our pets as much attention, exercise, nurturing, and stimulation necessary for a happy and healthy pet.”
The Dog Stop started franchising in 2014 and has more than 40 additional stores in various stages of development in Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
The local franchise is owned by Oleg Adrianov, who is picture above with his staff at a recent ribbon-cutting event.
“Within the next year, we have plans to add a splash pad, which is like a water park for dogs,” Adrianov said.
Adrianov says he hopes to open more Dog Stop locations and extend the Boardman store’s products and services to include offerings for cats.
