The Innovators: Sara Baer

As has become The Business Journal’s custom during the month of May, designated as National Small Business Month, we ask readers to tell us who is worthy of recognition. This time, we asked readers to nominate innovators – the risk takers, out-of-box thinkers and the status quo challengers.

Sara Baer
Volunteer, Salem Federation of Women

SALEM – Sara Baer volunteers very humbly in many capacities.

Sara helps with Salem’s family services, volunteers with the Salem Historical Society and helps the parks department as a member of the Bee City committee.

She is also president of the Bridgefield Homestead Society, and she serves on both the Salem Federation of Women’s board and Salem City Council.

Sara works hard to bring all the businesses downtown together for activities and events.

She is very keen on bringing nonprofits together to help one another. For example, she brought several
nonprofit health industry programs to the Salem Women’s Federation, which provides services to our community.

Sara is one of those people who thinks outside of the box.

She is always one step ahead of everybody else. She’s like a little butterfly – she pops up everywhere.

Nominated by Carolyn Caldwell.
