WARREN, Ohio – An animated children’s television favorite will return to the Mahoning Valley on April 16 when the Blippi! Join the Band tour comes to Packard Music Hall.
Tickets range from $59.75 to $24.75 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Ticketmaster.com (fees apply). An online-only presale will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday; use the password “truck.”
Hometown Holidays Parade Seeks Entries
WARREN, Ohio – The Hometown Holidays parade and celebration will take place Dec. 14 in downtown Warren.
Businesses, organizations, troops and clubs that want to take part in the parade can register by sending a text message to Rachel at 234 600 8365.
The parade will start at 5 p.m. Participants will begin lining up at 4 p.m. in Perkins Park.
Sale of Children’s Book to Benefit Hope Foundation
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will receive 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the children’s book “The Day Tomorrow Got Lost,” which is the latest offering in the Fantastic Tales of Merriweather and Perriweather series.
The Hope Foundation provides resources to families with children facing chronic or terminal disease.

Handel’s Opens First Store in Georgia
CANFIELD, Ohio – Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, serving handmade ice cream since 1945, has opened its newest location in midtown Atlanta.
It will be the company’s first Georgia location.
The nearly 80-year-old brand, founded in Youngstown and headquartered in Canfield, will host a weekend of family-friendly events at the store in midtown Atlanta starting Thursday, Nov. 14.
“The greater Atlanta area is a major hub for foodies, and we’re thrilled to bring our award-winning, time-honored ice cream to a flourishing community,” said Jennifer Schuler, CEO of Handel’s.
Handel’s makes ice cream daily in all of its stores.
Choral Concert at Grove City College
GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College’s fall choral concert will take place at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, in Harbison Chapel on campus.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The Concert Choir will perform J.S. Bach’s “Magnificat,” accompanied by organist Wesley Morgan.
The Touring Choir and the 12-voice Chamber Singers will also perform on the program, singing works by John Rutter, Rosephanye Powell, Paul Mealor, Christopher Moore and Paul Smith.
More than 100 singers will take part in the performance, which will include music from the Baroque era to modern day.
Handcrafted Gifts, Artisan Foods at Sale
FOWLER, Ohio – Unique handcrafted items, ideal for holiday gifts, will be sold at An Old Country Christmas at Fowler Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, in Fowler village center, 3455 Youngstown Kingsville Road.
This Christmas village will offer artisan goods such as organic elderberry syrups, kettle corn, home décor and wreaths, plus food and music.
The all-ages event will also include a decorated Christmas tree raffle that benefits the Big Buck Contest for youths and an opportunity to visit with Santa Claus and his elves. Baked goods and brisket will be sold at Fowler General Store.

Lit Youngstown Offers Writing Workshops
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Lit Youngstown will again offer Writing Intensives in 2025. Classes will center on poetry, with a focus on conceptualizing and ordering poems into a poetry chapbook.
Participants will be asked to submit a poetry chapbook manuscript of 16 to 24 pages. Each month, visiting poets will lead a discussion on the order of the poems and cohesion of the whole, and make suggestions for strengthening the submitted manuscripts.
The eight-workshop series will begin with a virtual session in December, and continue in person only from January to June. It will end with a virtual session in late June.
All in-person workshops will meet at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
