NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – A Celtic Angels Christmas, featuring the Celtic Knight Dancers and the Trinity Band Ensemble of Dublin, will come to Orr Auditorium at Westminster College for a performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16.

The show, part of the college’s Celebrity Series, features Irish and holiday tunes.

Local Novelist Releases Second Book

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Ayana Symone has published her second novel, “My Name is Anxiety.”

The novel dives into trauma, family wounds, sexuality, relationships, faith and other topics, with a raw discovery on identity.

The Youngstown-based Symone, 22, also hosts “To Be Heard,” a podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

“My Name is Anxiety” can be purchased as a hard copy from Amazon and through the author’s website.

Symone will do a book signing from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at the Poland Library. Readers can reserve their spot here.

‘Goodfellas’ to be Screened at Robins Theatre

WARREN, Ohio – The 1990 Martin Scorsese film “Goodfellas” will be screened at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Robins Theatre.

Tickets are $7 (plus applicable fees) and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at robinstheatre.com and the theater box office.

“Goodfellas is a film adaptation of the 1985 nonfiction book “Wiseguy” by Nicholas Pileggi. Starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino, the film narrates the rise and fall of mob associate Henry Hill and his friends and family from 1955 to 1980.

Playhouse Sets Auditions for Youth ‘Romeo’

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown Playhouse’s Youth Valley Players is seeking participants for its “Romeo + Juliet” project.

Auditions will take place Jan. 4 and 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. both days, in the Playhouse.

The production will be a series of short plays, written by local students, based on the characters, themes and props of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

Actor-writers ages 12 to 18 are needed.

Students will be placed in groups and given writing prompts to create a 10-minute short play. Participants will learn the art of scriptwriting, directing and acting, and will see their work performed.

The workshop is under the direction of Tyler Moliterno and Emelia Sherin. Rehearsals will begin in January. The performance will take place Saturday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m.
