The Update | Cookie Crawl in Lisbon; River Rock at the Amp Unveils Season Lineup
LISBON, Ohio – The Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce will present Cookies & More: Cookie Crawl in Historic Downtown Lisbon from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 23.
Wristbands are $5 for this family friendly event that will include music by the Conkle Brothers in the Gazebo while participants visit 13 local businesses to taste and vote on delicious treats.
Participants will receive a ballot with their wristband to cast votes for Best Bakery Cookie and Best Home Baked Cookie. The top three in each category will take home a Golden, Silver or Bronze Spatula and bragging rights.
There will also be sugar cookie decorating in the Square. Participants can taste cookies from Bricker’s Cafeteria, Frank’s Pastry, Subway and more, and desserts from local bakers Babbling Brooks Farm, Pie Oh My, Theresa McMillan, and Katie Graham.
River Rock Concert Series Reveals Lineup
WARREN, Ohio – The 2022 River Rock at the Amp concert season will feature 14 shows at the Warren Community Amphitheatre by some of the top tribute bands.
The lineup will include the return of favorites, including 7 Bridges (Eagles), Fins to the Left (Jimmy Buffet), Queen Nation (Queen) and Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd).
Concerts take place rain or shine. In addition to the amphitheater seating, there guests can bring lawn chairs and blankets. A wide variety of food and refreshments, including adult beverages, will be sold on site.

All concerts start at 8:30 p.m., with the opening act going on at 5:30 p.m. All shows are on Saturdays, except Fins to the Left, which will be on Friday, July 1.

Sondheim Show will Benefit Kids Theater
BOARDMAN, Ohio – The Oakland Center for the Arts will present For the Love of Sondheim, a fundraiser to honor the late musical theater composer, at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave.
The event will feature entertainers MaryJo Maluso and Rick Blackson, James McClellan, Amanda Beagle-Bossio, Leah Ifft, Daniel Gordiejew, Brendan Byers, and Natalie Kovacs.
Tickets are $20 ($10 for students in high school and younger) and will be available at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Oakland Kids First Theatre Initiative and its Au-Stars Program, which works with children on the autism spectrum.
Auditions for ‘Freaky Friday’ at Stage Left
LISBON, Ohio – Auditions for Stage Left Players’ summer musical, “Freaky Friday,” will take place April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trinity Playhouse, 234 E. Lincoln Way. Directors Kandace Cleland and Jodine Pilmer and choreographer Christine Martin seek a cast of 20 to 28 to act, sing and dance the Disney musical, based loosely on the 2003 film.
Adults and mature teens who are interested in auditioning should visit StageLeftPlayers.org/news to complete the online audition registration form and peruse a copy of the script. Rehearsals will begin the first week of May and will include Saturdays and Sundays. Disney TV Star to Appear at Scrappers Game
NILES, Ohio – Issac Ryan Brown from Disney Channel show “Raven’s Home” will appear at the Mahoning Valley Scrappers game on Saturday, July 23.
The actor, known for his role as Booker Baxter, will throw out the first pitch and take photos with fans during the game.

Dana Ensembles to Perform in Concert
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Dana School of Music Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Stambaugh Auditorium.
Tickets are $8 ($7 for senior citizens, and free for anyone with a valid YSU ID) and are available at Stambaughauditorium.com or at the door that evening.
The Dana Symphony Orchestra will perform the iconic “Appalachian Spring Suite” by American composer Aaron Copland and the “Serenade for String Orchestra” by Victor Herbert in a free 7:30 p.m. concert on Tuesday, April 26, in Ford Theater, inside Bliss Hall, on the YSU campus.
