The Update | Dance Teachers Publish Ballet Dictionary for Kids
SHARON, Pa. – Two local dance instructors have published a book to help young students understand and remember the terminology of ballet.
Jessica Wellington and Olivia Barner have written “Livington’s Ballet Dictionary for Children.” The book uses original poems and illustrations to help young students learn the French terms for ballet positions and moves.
Wellington is the owner and artistic director of The Pennsylvania Dance Company, 115 E. State St. Barner is the creative director of the dance company.
The two decided to create the book after realizing that no such publication exists. It can be purchased at amazon.com.
Hunks Show Coming to Bootleggers
BROOKFIELD, Ohio – Hunks, the Show will come to Bootleggers at Yankee Lake Ballroom, 1814 state Route 7, for an “ultimate girls’ night out” on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show will start at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 in advance and will go on sale Friday, Dec. 8, at thebootlive.com. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $23.
Holy Cannoli Beer Tapping at Penguin City
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Holy Cannoli beer, a collaboration of Penguin City Brewing Co. and One Hot Cookie, will be released Friday, Dec. 8. It will be sold exclusively in the Penguin City taproom.
Holy Cannoli is a pastry stout with hints of vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon. It was inspired by one of One Hot Cookie’s holiday favorites, the Holy Cannoli cookie.
A limited edition 16-ounce Belgium beer glass with a gold rim and gold imprint of the two brands will also go on sale at 2 p.m. Friday for $20. Guests can purchase the beer in the limited-edition glass for $25.
The beer will also be sold for takeout in growlers.
Penguin City Brewing and One Hot Cookie have been collaborating since 2019, when they introduced their first beer collaboration, Pink Peppermint Ale, a beer inspired by One Hot Cookie’s pink peppermint brownie.
To keep the celebration going, from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, One Hot Cookie will host a cookie exchange at Penguin City. Those who wish to participate are asked to bring six dozen cookies of the same variety and will be allowed to leave with four dozen cookies of mixed types.
